Prologue ....
We're in the final stages of preparation for our epic journey from Canada to Mexico, border-to-border. We're getting very excited ! We plan to leave Houston near the end of May, with stops along the way: Big Bend NP in Texas, Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico, and who know where else ! we expect to reach San Diego in the first week of June to meet up with my best friend Dave and his family for a short visit. AFter, we plan to take Amtrak to Vancouver, BC. From there, we'll load the bikes, turn around and then head south to the USA / Mexico border south of San Diego. We're looking to travel approximately 2700 miles in about 8 weeks. We've been training for months now, with increasingly longer and hillier rides, so we should be primed to go ! ReplyDeleteIn Big Bend NP...go up to the Chisos Basin, stop off at the campground store for directions to the best hikes. Do the Emory Peak Trail. Then....go to Starlight Theatre : 631 Ivey Rd., Terlingua, Texas 79852 for dinner. (432) 371-3400.
